Sensodyne® iso-active® and SheSpeaks

I recently received an awesome package from SheSpeaks, which included new toothpaste from Sensodyne.  (It also included great coupons and yummy freezer pops!)  The toothpaste is called iso-active, and is a foaming gel which is totally unlike any other toothpaste I've ever used.  It foams up almost like a shaving gel, and really does cover your whole mouth very well.  Sensodyne is recommended by 9 out of 10 dentists, and:

• Contains an active ingredient, Potassium Nitrate, that is clinically proven to reduce painful sensitivity
• Provides fast relief within two weeks
• Has fluoride for cavity protection
• Freshens breath

However, the reason I haven't used Sensodyne before is that it's never really made my mouth feel clean.  I would brush as usual and use only Sensodyne for a few weeks straight, and although the desensitizing aspect of it worked, my mouth just didn't feel as clean. It's different with this new foam formula.  My mouth definitely feels clean and refreshed.  The foam is a little unusual at first, but I quickly got used to it. 

After two weeks of using this toothpaste, I would say that I give it a 5 out of 10 rating.  This is mainly due to the smell of the toothpaste.  There is an almost chemical smell to it that I can also taste while I brush and for about a half hour afterwards.  It's too much of an aerosol smell to me, and it burns my nose.  If there was any way to get rid of that, I would probably switch to this toothpaste.  If the product changed in that manner, I would give it an 8 out of 10.

The best part of the whole trial?  Besides getting to try a new product, I also got to enjoy the freezer pops that SheSpeaks sent along with my care package.  I can definitely say that eating one after my two weeks with Sensodyne was much more enjoyable than eating the one before I started.  I would recommend this to anybody who has tooth sensitivity, and is willing to put up with the smell for the long-term benefits.

SheSpeaks and Wet Ones

I recently received a package of Wet Ones from SheSpeaks to try out and review. I have to say that in the past I have stuck with either Clorox disinfecting wipes or antibacterial hand gel. However, I am hooked on Wet Ones now! I threw one "to-go" package in my purse/diaper bag, and put the canister sized package in the cup holder of the car. The very first day, I found myself reaching for both packages more than once. With a sticky four year old who likes snacks in the car, this was really a lifesaver. We were on a rush out the door last week to make it to dance class on time, so of course a snack was clutched tightly in our grip. By the time I pulled up at dance, it looked like I hadn't bathed my child in days; rather, it looked like I simply rolled her around in cracker crumbs and cheese bits then stuck a tutu on top of the whole mess. Well, hand gel nor Clorox wipes would have done me any good at that point. I remembered the Wet Ones and that was when I fell in love.

They cleaned her up quickly and efficiently, meaning I didn't have to use five or six sheets to get the job done. Also, they smelled nice but not overwhelming, and didn't leave my child smelling like rubbing alcohol. One of my favorite parts is that there is absolutely no "sticky" feeling afterwards, and nothing that you have to wait for to dry, as with hand gels. I tried the Fresh Scent smell, which was nice, but when I go to the store to stock up, I think I may try the Moisturizing Formula, which contains lanolin and aloe.

A lot of you are still interested in the Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller that I tested a few weeks ago from SheSpeaks. There are people who simply want to know what this product claims to do.

Garnier claims the Eye Roller will:

Well, guess what? All of those "claims" turned out to be "truths"! Even for a skeptic like myself, I was thoroughly satisfied with the results--even immediately! The Eye Roller simply made my eyes feel great. Garnier recommends the product be applied over your lotion, after cleansing your face. I used it after working at the computer for a few hours, I used it after waking up first thing in the morning, and I used it when I was just tired and stressed. It always made my eyes feel better. The reduction of dark circles and puffiness, I think, is mainly for people with really bad darkness and bags, and those are the types of people who will see results. If your darkness or puffiness is minimal to begin with, you may feel that it won't be worth $10-$15. However, if you're someone like me, who feels pain as a result of stressed eyes, the Eye Roller will definitely be worth it for the comfort it provides.
